This one was for two of my good friends — Colbie and Josh — as they prepare to welcome their baby boy into the world. Watching your friends step into a new chapter of parenthood is already emotional enough… but seeing them love on Navie as she gets ready to become a big sister? We met at Lakeside Lavender, a peaceful little gem tucked quietly behind the sweetest family-owned home in LaPorte. From the second we arrived, the owners welcomed us with open arms and gave us access to their entire lavender field — rows and rows of soft purple stretching in the afternoon light. Inside their shop, they sell homemade lavender products and beautiful handmade goods from local vendors, which made the whole experience feel even more special and personal.
It was calm. It was fragrant. It was the kind of place that makes you breathe a little deeper.
(Okay… minus the very large bees and bugs 😂 But honestly? They were just enjoying the lavender as much as we were.)
Josh will be the first to tell you he’s “not really a photo guy,” but he showed up for his girls — and for his baby boy — and absolutely nailed it. The quiet smiles, the way he held Colbie, the way Navie tucked into him… it was effortless and so genuine. Those are always my favorite kinds of moments.
