I try to do a photo session of my dogs every year, and this year I got to capture Kevin at 4 years old. If you don’t know Kevin, he’s a Great Dane with the heart (and attitude) of a lap dog. Despite his enormous size, he’s the most gentle, loving giant you’ll ever meet, and he’ll happily cuddle for hours if you let him.
Kevin is happiest outside—as long as it’s sunny or blanketed in snow, otherwise you'll find him on the couch. He has a special fondness for eating snow (and bacon… and Cheeto puffs 🫣). When he’s in the car, he’s all about the movement—if the car stops at a light or stop sign, you’ll hear the cries of a pup who just needs to stick his head out the window or sunroof and feel the wind. in the summer if he's not laying on the deck soaking up the rays he likes to rest his head on the gate and watch the kids play in our neighborhood.
When he’s not on the move, Kevin is perfectly content sunbathing on the deck or curling up wherever you’ll let him, soaking in the cozy life he loves. Spending time capturing him in photos is always a joy—he’s playful, sweet, and utterly unforgettable, a true gentle giant who makes every day brighter. his orange eyes are one of my favorite things about him too!
